Our wins

The turnarounds, the top bands and the marks our students walked away with. Here is what working with W² has looked like in practice.

From the low 80s to a Band 6

A group of Sydney Boys students came to us part-way through Year 12. Not at the start of the year, when there is room to spare, but mid-stream, already paying elsewhere and stuck in the low 80s. Capable students, Band 5 results, marks that would not move.

We did not re-teach the content they already knew. We worked on the understanding behind the hardest questions and the exam technique to be credited for it. By the HSC, every one of them had reached a Band 6, and some finished in the mid-90s.

It is the pattern we see most often: a capable student who is closer to the top band than their marks suggest, held back by how the exam is approached rather than by what they know.

In their own words

“The way the problems were written made the actual HSC feel like just another one of our classes. Nothing on the day surprised me.”
Student, Sydney Boys High
“For the first time I understood why the method worked, not just what to write. The hard questions stopped feeling impossible.”
Student, James Ruse Agricultural High
