How we teach maths
Three things, taught together and weighted differently as you move through senior maths: real understanding first, then the pattern-fluency to handle anything, then the exam craft to be credited for all of it. More about our approach.
Understanding first
We teach why every method works, from first principles. When you understand the reasoning behind a result, your knowledge holds up on hard and unfamiliar problems instead of falling apart.
Exam heuristics
Exam questions repeat the same underlying patterns. We train the best way to approach each one, and practise them until they become tools you reach for without thinking, even on questions you have never seen.
Writing for the marker
Knowing the maths is only half of it. We teach you to set out your work clearly and check it under time pressure, so a correct method is actually credited as one.
Why more practice has not moved the marks
If you have been tutored for a year and your marks have stalled, more of the same will not change them. The issue is usually the method, not the effort.
Formulas
Hands you formulas and worked examples to memorise, so the method does not transfer the moment a question is phrased in a way you have not seen.
Builds every formula from first principles, so you can rebuild it under pressure instead of hoping you remembered it correctly.
Hard questions
Drills full past papers to recognise question types, which leaves you stranded the first time the exam asks something unfamiliar.
Breaks hard, unseen problems into the handful of recurring techniques they are built from, so an unfamiliar question becomes a sequence of familiar steps.
Setting out
Treats a correct answer as a finished one, so method marks slip away on working a marker cannot follow.
Trains your setting-out the way a marker reads it, so a correct method is credited in full instead of bleeding marks on the page.
The HSC is written fresh each year. Memorising past questions only prepares you for the ones you have already seen. Understanding the maths well enough to solve the ones you have not is what actually moves the marks.

Reach the HSC without a Band 6, and that subject's fees come back
For Year 12, if you attend consistently, complete the weekly sets and engage, and still do not achieve a Band 6 / E4 in that subject, we refund that subject's fees in full. For Years 10 and 11, the same applies against an improvement from a recorded starting point.
